eCommerce Trading Manager / eCommerce Manager / Optimisation and Conversion Manager

Working for a large consumer services eCommerce business, the eCommerce Trading Manager / eCommerce Manager / Optimisation and Conversion Manager role involves driving commercial trading performance across a range of products/services, delivering continuous optimisation and results.

This is a hybrid role, based partly from home and in central London 2 days a week.

You’ll strive to hit commercial objectives, working in collaboration with wider teams to drive customer outcomes, balancing trade-offs of short term, goals with mid and longer term needs with key Product stakeholders.
You’ll identify innovative ways to drive performance across Products and routes to market by understanding commercial levers, and the influence Product roadmaps have on trading.

You’ll also work to understand the market, competitors and how we may seek to react from a trading perspective.

The eCommerce Trading Manager / eCommerce Manager / Optimisation and Conversion Manager will:

-Monitor and report of commercial outcomes through a product focused lens
-Work alongside the Product Team, defining and leading any initiatives to drive additional traffic & sales
-Build awareness of commercial performance with team members and leadership by making commercial performance and outcomes highly visible and transparent
-Represent trading and commercial outcomes in required governance forums
-Work with Senior Managers to support changes to strategy where better commercial opportunities exist or to mitigate forecasted commercial outcomes
-Report ROI from short term measures executed through controllable levers to improve conversion and sales
-Drive conversion optimisation through experimentation (A/B) in production
-Support Roadmap and backlog prioritisation with Product managers
-Contribute to changes to content to support positioning of customer offers, promotional content, seasonal offers
-Contribute to Strategy development, aligning the roadmap with likely commercial outcomes
-Partner with Product Managers to balance commercial and customer needs
-Have a thorough understanding of Product roadmaps and their influence on trading
-Confidently and effectively articulate initiatives and their likely commercial value

Candidates for the eCommerce Trading Manager / eCommerce Manager / Optimisation and Conversion Manager role must have:

-Previous eCommerce trading experience in a physical product or consumer services environment (eg mobile phone tariffs, insurance, finance products, utilities, energy, etc).
-A very analytical approach and comfort using data and insight to drive actions.
-Experience driving commercial outcomes (sales, conversions) and using KPI’s to track and measure performance.
-Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to work across marketing, product, commercial and tech teams.
-Possibly a bias towards eCommerce marketing, pricing and inventory or conversion optimisation as mentioned above.
