This is a fixed term maternity cover (12 months) to cover the leave of the Marketing Director. The role will predominately focus on maintaining and improving the current SEO position through a mixture of on-page, off-page, and technical improvements. This role will also include content creation for SEO but also the occasional brand awareness piece including virtual Roundtables and events.

  • Salary – £295 – £325 day rate
  • 3 days per week
  • 1 day per week in St Albans office (Hertfordshire) is preferable but not essential.
  • Start date: Mid October

Responsibilities include:

SEO:

  • Develop and execute successful SEO strategies to maintain and improve SERP positions, increase web traffic and in-bound, qualified leads for the business.
  • Utilise SEO tools such as WPEngine and RankMath (and any other tools required for optimisations)
  • Complete detailed keyword research and deliver associated content (new pages, blogs, video etc)
  • Maintain detailed focus on top 20 keywords for improvement, building out content around these key terms to improve brand authority.
  • Website optimisation through website audit tools, including internal links, CTRs, technical errors, content optimisations and more.
  • Build domain authority through link building, outreach and content strategies.
  • Create blog content and case studies to support SEO strategy, delivering at least 1 blog per week.
  • Deliver content plan for any new keywords / disciplines identified by the business – i.e. new recruitment disciplines.
  • Monthly report of SEO activities and results to our Directors and wider team.

Brand awareness:

  • Post content on LinkedIn. Understand and advise on the best way to increase engagement, content views and amplify content.
  • Plan and execute at least 1 virtual Roundtable event. Identify title and brief, organise guests and manage live event with help of our Marketing Agency.

On an adhoc basis only:

  • Organise and execute any brand awareness events
  • Identify new marketing opportunities including podcasts
  • Produce sales enablement brochures / content if requested.

 

Candidate requirements:

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in an SEO-related role.
  • Ability to work independently, setting your own strategy and managing workload / deadlines.
  • Excellent track record of creating SEO strategies, SEO auditing, keyword research, metadata creation, content creation and SEO optimisation.
  • Experience reporting data, reviewing ranking changes, diagnosing problems, and recommending solutions to improve organic performance.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics and WordPress CMS.
  • A strong commercial mindset, where you understand the big picture, cutting through to the things that are important and generate value.
