We are looking for a Senior Product Designer (Checkout Experience to join a leading consumer eCommerce company that serves millions of customers worldwide. This Senior Product Designer role will focus on optimising the consumer’s online checkout experience within a fast-paced eCommerce environment, ensuring customers can seamlessly select products, add any extras, and complete their purchases with ease. The goal is to create a smooth, high-converting purchase journey, driving sales performance and customer satisfaction.

The business owns and operates hubs across the UK, US, and Germany, and are a global leader in their industry, handling over 17 million transactions each year for a wide range of entertainment experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an agile environment, driving design for the consumer journey leading all the way to checkout.

This is a 6-month contract (outside IR35) paying £400-490 per day. It’s full time and hybrid, with 1-2 days per week in London Zone 1. There is potential for extension.

You will report into the Head of Product Design and work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Engineers, and Data Analysts, as well as various stakeholders from Marketing, Customer Support, and more.

The Senior Product Designer (Checkout Experience) will:

  • Design and optimise the user experience for the online checkout journey, from product selection to payment confirmation.
  • Work closely with engineers, product managers, and data analysts to deliver a smooth, effective, and visually appealing checkout process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver innovative products.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and guide design decisions with clear rationale and supporting data.
  • Use both qualitative and quantitative research methods to inform and refine design choices.
  • Continuously test and iterate on design concepts to validate ideas and improve the user experience.
  • Develop design documentation, including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and presentations.
  • Play an active role in evolving and maintaining the design system.
  • Ensure all products meet accessibility, inclusivity, and localisation standards.

The Senior Product Designer (Checkout Experience) should have:

  • You must have experience in a large scale b2c eCommerce business. (Checkout/ticketing experience is a plus).
  • End-to-end product design development experience in mobile-first responsive web environments.
  • Expertise in user research methodologies, including qualitative, quantitative, and data analysis techniques.
  • Proven ability in service design and systemic thinking, creating cohesive designs across multiple channels and stakeholders.
  • Experience creating prototypes, wireframes, and documenting findings for stakeholders.
  • Strong user-centric interaction design skills, including user journey mapping, information architecture, and visual design.
  • Demonstrated experience ensuring digital products are designed according to brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
  • Hands-on experience with Design Systems and delivering high-quality UI.
  • Excellent communication and senior stakeholder management skills.
